Explanation on Relief from VAT

Some of the products supplied by Snowdrop Care and Mobility Ltd may be available with zero VAT (E-rated) depending on your status as an individual or charity, and the nature of the product.

As an indication, all items marked with a green symbol (V) are generally accepted for VAT exemption for personal use where the item is solely used to treat a disability or chronic illness, or where the funds come from a charitable source.

You may be eligable for relief from VAT if you suffer from a recognised chronic illness or long term disability. 

Examples of chronic illnesses and disabilities include:

  • All forms of Arthritis;
  • Stroke;
  • Parkinsons Disease;
  • Motor Neurone Disease;
  • Multiple Sclerosis.

The list above contains examples of chronic illnesses and disabilities that will entitle you to VAT relief.  Please note that this list is not exhaustive and if you are in any doubt, please do not hesitite to call one of our advisors on 01437 768383 who will be happy to assist you.

Products available for exemption inclide aids that are designed or modified for persons suffering from a disability or chronic illness, as well as products designed for the care or treatment of incontinence.

In order to be eligable, you will be required to complete a simple declaration form for Customs and Excise, which is a part of the online ordering process.  If you are not ordering on-line, you will need to download the from from the following link and return it to us as soon as possible for us to process your order.

When ordering online, once the declaration has been completed, the shopping basket will recalculate your total allowing for the items that are zero rated for VAT.
