The Freeway chair is of matchless construction. Only top quality materials have been used in the manufacture of this comfortable, manoeuvrable and very stable chair. The substantial steel frame has been constructed from strong tubing to produce a heavy duty, durable chair capable of carrying up to 200kgs (30 stones). The frame then undergoes a unique process to producem a finish that is both highly durable and extremely attractive. The nylon coating is tough, resilient and waterproof, and it has a glossy attractive appearance.
The seat and backrest are covered in hard-wearing, flame retardant material, which is hygienic and easily wiped clean. Large diameter top quality plastic castors for maximum water resistance, ensure the chair travels more easily over uneven surfaces and the ramped edges of shower cubicles, and on assistant propelled chairs, feature total stop brakes. Many features are standard on the Freeway that are extra on other makes, so with its superior construction and design, the Freeway range constitutes excellent value for money. The Freeway range is extensive with a model to suit every application. All Freeway Shower/Toilet Commode Chairs fit over a standard toilet or commode. An assistant propelled and a self propelling model are available as standard for use with automatic bidets. The Freeway chair comes in mudular form with a large range of standard options in seats, backrests and arm rests, all interchangeable on different models. The comfortable padded seats are available in fully padded, horseshoe shaped, or aperture type configurations, and are available extended for additional support. The armrests are covered in comfortable and hygienic high performance dense foam and come in a choice of three different widths. There is a choice of horizontal push handles or straight vertical handled backrests for use in restricted areas or over W.Cs. Removable Swing away footrests are standard (not T50). Every model is manufactured in three different width fittings, 440mm (17"), 490mm (19") and 540mm (21"). With such a large range of options, a Freeway standrad chair can be selected to suit most requirements, thus removing the need for an individul build. Where there are special needs, Freeway in conjunction with Snowdrop Care and Mobility Ltd, provide a full assessment and custom build service. Enquiries for special chairs are welcomed and these chairs are made by the specialist deoartment at Freeway. All models carry a twelve-month warranty. All Freeway chairs are now available in transportable option: The frame can be dismantled without the need for tools for ease of transport or storage.
T30 - Static model fits in a shower or can be raised to fit over a standard toilet
T40 - Standard assistant propelled model. This sturdy chair is easily propelled and manoeuvred. Available as automatic bidet model (T40 COM)
T50 - 510mm front wheel self propelling model, is suitable for amputee and in situations where manoeuvrability is an issue.
T60 - 510mm rear wheel model has short overall length and small rear wheel for transfer. Good choice where ramp or lip is to be encountered. Suitable as self propeller or assistant propelled model.
T70 - 560mm rear wheeled self propelling model gives clear access for self transfer. Easy to manoeuvre. Also available as automatic bidet model (T70COM) Right or left side opening model available for side access - Suitable for spinal injuries subject to assessment.
The unique Recliner is a shower chair, a toilet chair and a commode chair all in one. When in a vertical position, it fits over a standard toilet. The carer has then the facility to recline the chair in an infinite number of positions up to 45 degrees, whilst maintaining a safe and comfortable seating position for showering and commoding. The ability to recline gives considerable extra comfort to the user and changing positions offers some pressure relief. The Recliner is simple to operate via a squeeze brake lever on the cross bar push handle. The two stainless steel gas springs and the Recliner`s superb balance, make it light and easy to use. It has a safe working load of 25 stone (160kgs). The Recliner gets its movement from two powerful, highest quality gas springs. By using two gas springs rather than the usual one, the chair has free access over a toilet and yet is engineeringly correctly balanced, and therefore stable and strong. The chair can be reclined using the easy to use handgrip in an infinite number of positions until the chair reaches 45 . The chair is then simply raised by gentle pressure after releasing the gas strut. The Recliner Chair comes as standard with:
• Choice of Assistant propelled or self propelled model NB. A COM MODEL TO GO OVER AN AUTOMATIC BIDET SUCH AS A CLOS O MAT IS AVAILABLE. THIS MODEL HAS SPLAYED REAR LEGS TO CLEAR THE CASING OF THE CLOS O MAT CABINET. Most accessories and paddings for our standard range are available to accompany the Recliner. Alterations to the Backrest, Armrests and Seats are regularly supplied. A detachable headrest and flat or curved head support cushion are often added to provide extra comfort and support. Lateral supports are adjustable and fit on the standard backrest. As these require the addition of a small hole, and removal of the backrest push handles, they are more suited to ordering from new than as a retro fit. The T80 Recliner is robustly constructed and strong (160kg, 25 stone) and, like the rest of the Freeway range, has been built with the best quality materials available to give years of useful service. As with all models in the Freeway range, the Recliner Seat, Backrests and Armrests are interchangeable with other models. The T100 model has a weight capacity of 350kgs (55 stone). This chair is suitable for use as a shower / toilet / commode chair. The Chair is constructed from extra diameter tubing for strength and has four good looking twin castors which make the chair easy to manoeuvre even under full load. The pram style horizontal push backrest is standard. The chair is 790mm wide and has a seat height of 525MM and depth of 550mm. Heavy duty footrests with heel supports are standard. An attachment to allow adjustment inwards of footrests is available (illustrated). As with all Freeway chairs, armrests fold away and footrests flip up, swing away and easily detach.
While the Freeway range of Chairs is wide and the standard configurations appropriate in most situations, it can arise that you may need a chair adapted in some way to suit your particular needs. We, along with Freeway have the experience and ability to make such adaptations and this is a significant side to our business and such work is welcomed. Freeway can make anything from a small alteration to an individual component (e.g. altering armrest heights), to making a complete chair to a specification usually designed in conjunction with our experienced sales advisors and your professional care advisers.  This is a T70 shower chair covered entirely in mesh material  This is a T70 designed for propelling from one side only. Only suitable as a shower or commode chair.  This is a T70 with extended backrest and detachable headrest.

COM models for automatic bidet models come as a standard model but a Seat with a skirt will be included. If it is desired to use your COM model shower chair as a commode chair also, we recommend that you have a second Seat with commode pan runners. Standard Frame Sizes for 440mm (17") wide chairs: Remember to add 50mm to the appropriate width for a 490mm (19") frame and 100mm for a 540mm (21") Frame. All models except T20 can be supplied to fit most makes of automatic toilet/bidets. All models except T20 are available in 3 frame widths - standard (440mm), wide (490mm), extra wide (540mm).
